Why Bernese Mountain Dogs?
The first time I saw a Bernese Mountain Dog, I was just 11 years old. I was outside my school, waiting for my mom to pick me up, when I glanced to the side of the street and saw something that instantly caught my attention, a boy, probably 14 or 15, holding the most beautiful dog I had ever seen. I had never seen a dog like that before.
Curious and excited, I walked up to him and asked, "What kind of dog is that?" He smiled and said, "It's a Bernese Mountain Dog." From that moment on, I was in love. The striking tri-color coat, the soulful eyes, the big pawsâit was everything I could ever want in a dog. That day, I made a promise to myself: One day, I will have a Bernese Mountain Dog.
From Passion to Purpose
Fast forward to today, and that childhood fascination has turned into something even bigger, a true passion and deep appreciation for this amazing breed. When I decided to create Bernese Treasures, I knew I didnât just want to sell products; I wanted to build a community for Bernese lovers like me and make a difference for the breed.
Giving Back to the Bernese Community
As many Bernese Mountain Dog owners know, the breed faces a heartbreaking health challenge, Histiocytosis, an aggressive cancer that affects too many of these loving dogs. Research is crucial to increasing their lifespan and working toward a future where this genetic issue no longer affects them.
